Three Points Stay in Legnica: #MIEWIS 2:1

In a thrilling encounter at the Stadion im. Orła Białego, Miedź Legnica edged out Wisła Kraków with a scoreline of 2-1.

The First Half
From the very first whistle, Miedź pressed forward with intense aggression, seeking an early breakthrough. However, Wisła gradually found their rhythm, and the clash evolved into an exhilarating exchange of attacks. In the 13th minute, a swift counterattack started by Uryga culminated in an unexpected twist: Duda's shot deflected off a Miedź defender and found the net, gifting Wisła the lead.

The home side responded tenaciously, and their relentless pressure bore fruit in the 20th minute. A cleverly executed short corner allowed Antonik to unleash a powerful strike from the edge of the box, which sailed past Broda and into the back of the net, levelling the score. As Miedź continued to press for a second goal, Broda was called into action several times, producing remarkable saves to ensure the teams headed into the break locked at 1-1.

The Second Half
Wisła emerged from the dressing room determined to regain their advantage, launching a series of persistent attacks. Duda came agonizingly close to scoring his second goal in the 50th minute, but his effort crept narrowly wide of the post. The away side maintained the pressure, yet Zwoliński's attempts to break the deadlock proved futile, as he found himself thwarted time and again.

In the 67th minute, Antonik nearly bagged his second for Miedź, but his ambitious strike cannoned off the woodwork, sending shared gasps around the stadium. Just five minutes later, Wisła faced a similar fate, as Rodado's deflected shot rebounded off the crossbar in a moment of despair for the visitors. The drama intensified when Zwoliński found the back of the net in the 78th minute, only to be denied by the offside flag raised by the assistant referee.

The match took a decisive turn in the 82nd minute, when Letniowski, enjoying an abundance of space just outside the penalty area, calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner, putting Miedź ahead. Wisła fought valiantly to mount a comeback, pouring forward with fervour, but despite their best efforts, the final whistle confirmed that all three points would remain in Legnica.
