Kazimierz Moskal takes over as the head coach of Wisła Kraków, returning to R22 after 9 years. The contract with the coach has been signed until June 30, 2026.
Kazimierz Moskal was born on January 9, 1967, and although he is a product of Gościbia Sułkowice, it was Wisła Kraków that became his second home. He stepped into adult football at R22, climbing the ranks and becoming an important figure for the White Star. He debuted as Wisła's player on June 8, 1985, in a match against Górnik Zabrze. And although he parted ways with Wisła, he returned as a player, and later as a coach. He played overall 289 matches for the team under Wawel, scoring 55 goals. With the White Star, he won the Polish championship twice, adding two Polish Cups and the Super Cup and League Cup.
He began his coaching career at R22 - as an assistant, youth coach, and later as the head coach. He gained experience alongside Werner Liczka, Jerzy Engel, Tomasz Kulawik, Dan Petrescu, Dragomir Okuka, Adam Nawałka, and Robert Maaskant. He served as the head coach in 2007, 2012, and 2015. Kazimierz Moskal is the last coach to have led Wisła Kraków in European competitions. 2011 under his leadership, the White Star advanced from the Europa League group stage, only to be eliminated in the round of 32 in February 2012 after two tough matches and draws with Standard Liege.
Kazimierz Moskal's coaching resume also includes clubs such as Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, GKS Katowice, Pogoń Szczecin, Sandecja Nowy Sącz, Zagłębie Sosnowiec, and ŁKS Łódź, with which he twice secured promotion to the Ekstraklasa.
Welcome back to R22 and good luck!
