Górnik Łęczna 1-0 Wisła Kraków: Late Goal Defeats Wisła

Although it's already October, Górnik Łęczna and Wisła Kraków faced off in a rescheduled match as a matter of  the 6th round of the Betclic 1 Liga. The only goal of Tuesday’s encounter came from the home team in the 51st minute, securing all three points for them.

The first half of the match between Górnik Łęczna and Wisła Kraków was tightly contested, with most of the play occurring in midfield. Górnik had their first notable opportunity in the 10th minute, but it only resulted in a set piece. Wisła had a chance in the 21st minute through Zwoliński and Alfaro, though both efforts lacked precision. Górnik responded in the 25th minute with a close call during a scramble in Wisła’s penalty area, but the first half ended without goals at 0-0.

In the second half, both teams returned unchanged. Wisła had the first shot on target, but it was comfortably saved. Górnik struck back on the counterattack in the 50th minute, with Jakub Bednarczyk scoring to give the home side a 1-0 lead. Wisła's coach, Maciej Jop, made his first substitution in the 58th minute, bringing on Olivier Sukiennicki for Ángel Rodado. Moments earlier, Zwoliński had scored, but it was disallowed due to offside.

Wisła pushed hard for an equalizer, with Alan Uryga missing a header and James Igbekeme firing wide from distance. Despite growing dominance and two more substitutions—Duarte for Alfaro and Kiakos for Kiss—Wisła struggled to break down Górnik's defense. Fouls from both teams disrupted the game's flow, and even with 11 minutes of added time, Wisła couldn't find the back of the net. Górnik Łęczna held on for a 1-0 victory.
