AKF and Wisła Kraków enter into partnership – science and sport go hand in hand

Wisła Kraków’s Circle of Partners has expanded once again, this time welcoming a new member from the field of science and higher education. The club has just entered into a partnership with the Akademia Kultury Fizycznej (eng. The University School of Physical Education in Kraków; formerly AWF), opening up new academic, research, and organisational opportunities. This collaboration will engage both the university and its students in the life of the White Star.

The University School of Physical Education in Kraków and Wisła Kraków are joining forces to create a platform for joint initiatives across multiple areas. This partnership will enable both institutions to harness their potential in scientific research, development projects, and the promotion of sport and a healthy lifestyle.

The cooperation will encompass joint research and development projects, mutual support in securing funding for sporting and scientific initiatives, and the exchange of knowledge and research findings. A key aspect of the agreement is also the promotion of sport as a safe and active way of spending free time, as well as the advocacy of fair play principles.

Wisła Kraków, as a club striving to base its operations on science and data analysis, sees this collaboration as a further step towards closer integration with the academic community. Working alongside experts and researchers will facilitate the development of modern training methods, the optimisation of coaching processes, and the more effective utilisation of players’ potential through a scientific approach to sport.

A crucial element of this partnership will be the involvement of AKF’s Central Scientific and Research Laboratory, which serves as the university’s technological and research hub. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and access to advanced diagnostic tools, the laboratory will enable in-depth physiological and biomechanical analyses, as well as assessments of athletes’ performance. This will create new opportunities for monitoring and optimising Wisła Kraków players’ training, as well as for implementing innovative approaches to physical preparation.

As part of the agreement, the two institutions will also co-organise conferences, training sessions, and courses, as well as jointly promote events and initiatives. This partnership marks a step towards dynamic progress in both science and sport, bringing benefits not only to the institutions involved but also to the academic community and Wisła Kraków supporters.

Welcome to Wisła Kraków's family!
