Tonight, the White Star played their final match of this round in the Betclic 1. Liga, facing Miedź Legnica. The encounter was closely contested, with neither side able to claim a definitive advantage. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams sharing the points.
The First Half
The match began with neither team asserting dominance in midfield. Miedź Legnica started with a string of yellow cards before creating their first significant opportunity in Wisła’s penalty area. However, Wisła’s goalkeeper, Letkiewicz, remained composed, expertly defusing the threat.
Wisła Kraków generated numerous chances to take the lead, but their efforts were let down by a lack of precision, with most attempts flying wide or over Miedź’s goal.
In the 26th minute, Marc Carbó suffered a serious foul and was forced to leave the pitch, replaced promptly by Alfaro. Shortly after, in the 28th minute, Miedź were awarded a free kick. However, Letkiewicz tipped the ball over the crossbar, conceding a corner. The ensuing corner kick was poorly executed, allowing Wisła to launch a counterattack, though Baena’s attempt was ultimately blocked by Miedź’s defenders.
Six minutes later, Wisła had another opportunity to break the deadlock. A free kick, taken by Rodado, was fired directly at the Miedź goalkeeper, who made a comfortable save.
As the first half progressed, Miedź led a threatening attack that was initially punched clear by Letkiewicz and subsequently saved again by the vigilant goalkeeper.
Towards the end of the half, Wisła ramped up their offensive efforts. An action near Miedź’s goal was halted by the defence, leading the referee to momentarily award a penalty to Wisła, only to dismiss it after review. Minutes later, Duda sent a promising shot narrowly past Miedź’s goalpost.
During five minutes of added time, Miedź were granted two corner kicks, both of which were successfully dealt with by Wisła’s defence and Letkiewicz. Just before the whistle, Miedź managed to put the ball into Wisła’s net, but the goal was disallowed by the referee due to a foul on a Wisła player.
The first half concluded goalless, with the score standing at 0-0.
The Second Half
The second half commenced with two early corner kicks for Miedź, but both were poorly executed, posing no threat to Wisła’s defence.
In the 54th minute, Antonik broke the deadlock for Miedź, beating Letkiewicz and slotting the ball into Wisła’s net. However, less than three minutes later, Rodado levelled the score with a well-taken goal following a precise assist from Mikulec. The match was back on even terms at 1-1.
For the next 20 minutes, both teams battled for dominance, creating promising opportunities but failing to convert them. In an attempt to tip the balance, Wisła Kraków’s manager made a series of substitutions: Sukiennicki, Baena, Zwoliński, and Duda were replaced by Duarte, Gogol, Kijakos, and Kiss. These changes were designed to inject fresh energy and improve Wisła’s attacking potency.
Despite their efforts, neither team could find the decisive goal, even during added time. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both sides sharing the points.
Wisła concluded their Autumn Round in 7th place, securing 30 points from the campaign.
