Wisła Kraków won their first Polish championship in 1927, marking the beginning of a long list of successes. The 1920s and 1930s were formative years for the club, as they solidified their place in Polish football. More triumphs followed after World War II, with the 1970s being particularly successful, capped by winning the league title in 1978.
The new millennium saw Wisła enter a period of dominance, regularly competing for the top honours. The club won championships in 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005, building a team that earned an almost unbeatable reputation. Their most recent title came in the 2010/2011 season when, under coach Robert Maaskant, Wisła defeated Cracovia 1-0 to secure their 13th league championship.
