The 14th round away match in the Betclic 1st League brought much-desired points to Wisła Kraków! With two goals from Angel Rodado and one from Tamas Kiss, the team confidently defeated Wisła Płock, finishing 3-1.
First Half
The match in Płock began with both Wisła Płock and Wisła Kraków playing cautiously, each side working the ball forward without creating immediate threats. The first close attempt came from Płock’s Łukasz Sekulski, whose header from a cross didn’t challenge Letkiewicz in Kraków’s goal. Relying on crosses, Płock saw another chance slip by when Sekulski’s shot from a corner sailed into the stands. Wisła Kraków, meanwhile, found success in quick counter-attacks, often forcing Płock’s defenders into fouls to slow them down.
In the 41st minute, Kraków broke the deadlock: a well-placed corner from the left was flicked by Łukasz Zwoliński, finding Angel Rodado, who headed it in to make it 1-0.
Second Half
With a lead secured before halftime, Kraków entered the second confidently. In the 49th minute, Giannis Kiakos sent in a free kick after a foul near the sideline, which Rodado again connected with to double the lead to 2-0.
With a two-goal deficit, Płock pushed forward, searching for a way back. However, Kraków’s tight pressing made it difficult for the home team to build meaningful attacks.
In the 71st minute, Kraków’s James Igbekeme received a second yellow card, reducing his team to 10 men. Playing shorthanded, Kraków adjusted their strategy, focusing on counterattacks. This approach paid off in the 82nd minute when Tamas Kiss scored after a fast break, securing a commanding 3-0 lead.
Despite being down, Płock found a late goal in stoppage time, with Piotr Krawczyk scoring in the extra time to bring the final score to 3-1. Wisła Kraków left Płock with a confident victory, collecting three valuable points.
