White Star Shines in Tychy: #TYCWIS 0-2

Tonight, the White Star travelled to Tychy to take on GKS Tychy in a fiercely contested encounter. The match was intense and action-packed, but Wisła ultimately shone brightest, securing a vital 2–0 away victory. Goals from Ángel Rodado and Alan Uryga sealed all three points.

The First Half
The hosts began the match with aggressive pressing, earning a corner as early as the 2nd minute. However, Wisła held firm, preventing Tychy from capitalising on their early momentum. As the match progressed, the tempo shifted towards the centre of the pitch, with Wisła gradually settling into their rhythm on unfamiliar ground. In the 6th minute, Rodado came close to opening the scoring but failed to keep the ball in play before crossing the byline.

Both sides looked to assert dominance, but neither managed to find the clarity needed to break the deadlock. In the 10th minute, Baena found himself one-on-one with the Tychy goalkeeper, but the home side’s shot-stopper came out on top. Just moments later, GKS Tychy responded with a threatening attack of their own, earning a corner which again came to nothing, thanks to a solid save from Broda.

The first half saw Wisła largely pinned back, struggling to gain a foothold as they searched for composure and control. In the 19th minute, Tychy came dangerously close to scoring, but Igbekeme made a crucial clearance, launching the ball to safety and preserving the clean sheet.

Just before half-time, Duda appeared to have given Wisła the lead after rounding the keeper and slotting the ball home. However, the referee disallowed the goal for offside. Despite several chances and a few minutes of added time, the score remained goalless at the break.

The Second Half
After the break, Wisła returned to the pitch with even greater determination. Mariusz Jop’s men played with patience and purpose, probing for gaps in the well-organised Tychy defence.

Their persistence paid off in the 66th minute when Ángel Baena delivered a low cross from the left into the box. There, Ángel Rodado timed his run perfectly and slotted the ball calmly inside the far post, beating Łubik and putting the visitors ahead.

Just seven minutes later, in the 73rd minute, Wisła doubled their lead. Following a well-taken corner, Alan Uryga broke free from his marker and rose highest to meet the ball with a precise header. The net rippled, and the scoreboard now read 2–0 to the visitors.

In the final quarter of the match, GKS Tychy pushed forward in search of a response. Although the hosts advanced higher up the pitch, they repeatedly ran into a resolute and well-disciplined Wisła defence. The White Star kept possession smartly, disrupted Tychy’s rhythm, and calmly exposed their opponents' errors. Despite the hosts’ late efforts, Wisła held firm until the final whistle, securing a well-deserved three points on the road.
