White Star Shine in Poznań: #WARWIS 0:1

The White Star played their match of the 26th round in the Betclic 1. Liga tonight, facing the team from Poznań. With both sides eager to secure valuable points in the race, the match promised intensity from the outset. The game ended with a victory for Wisła Kraków, 0-1.

The First Half
From the first whistle, Wisła Kraków imposed their trademark high-pressing style. Within seconds, they had already won their first corner, taken by Duda, which was deflected out of play by a Warta defender. In the third minute, Duda delivered another corner, but this time Uryga’s header sent the ball out of play. As the minutes passed, Warta grew more confident on the pitch, with the action gradually shifting from their penalty area to the midfield, and soon they began posing a threat near Wisła’s goal. In the 10th minute, a brilliant move from the visitors nearly broke the deadlock. Kiakos played a neat pass to Zwoliński, who slotted the ball into the net from close range. However, the goal was disallowed as the referee had flagged for offside. Three minutes later, Kiss created a fantastic opportunity to open the scoring, finding Mikulec with a precise pass.

Between the 26th and 28th minutes, Warta mounted a series of dangerous attacks. Capitalising on a mistake by Jaroch, Rajsel launched a strike at Wisła’s goal, but Letkiewicz intervened decisively. As the half-hour mark passed, Wisła were once again put under pressure by a threatening Warta move. A Warta player leapt for a header, but Jaroch held his ground well, clearing the danger while colliding with his opponent in the process. Warta continued to press, frequently appearing in Wisła’s penalty area. In the 37th minute, they created another threatening opportunity, which was once again calmly dealt with by Letkiewicz.

Despite heading into the break, the match remained full of action. Wisła had two more corners before the interval. The first, taken by Kiakos, caused some confusion near Warta’s goalmouth. The second, delivered by Kiss, was cleared by Warta straight to Carbó, whose effort soared just over the bar.

The first half began with ferocity from Wisła Kraków, but as time went on, their intensity waned, and Warta grew into the match. As the teams headed to the dressing rooms, the scoreline remained goalless at 0–0.

The Second Half
Mariusz Jop opted not to make any changes to the Wisła Kraków line-up at the start of the second half. Shortly after the restart, Mikulec linked up with Zwoliński, who returned the ball to Mikulec. With a composed finish, Mikulec found the back of the net, giving Wisła a 1–0 lead. It was a well-worked move that finally broke the deadlock and put the visitors ahead.

Around the hour mark, Warta had a series of opportunities to equalise. A corner followed by a free kick gave them promising chances, but neither effort managed to trouble the scoreline. In the 71st minute, Poletanović delivered a corner which reached Mikulec, but hesitation and a lack of decisive action meant the team failed to capitalise on the momentum. Just eight minutes later, Duarte played the ball into the box for Kiakos, who found Zwoliński, but his shot drifted wide of the goal.

As the match drew to a close, Warta pushed for an equaliser. In the 82nd minute, Letkiewicz pulled off a superb save to deny Drzazga, who had latched onto a long pass and attempted to chip the goalkeeper from distance. Then, in the 89th minute, Duarte again found Kiakos in a dangerous position, but his shot missed the near post.

In stoppage time, Jaroch committed a foul that resulted in a yellow card and a free kick for Warta, though it posed no real threat. The match ended in a hard-fought 0–1 victory for Wisła Kraków, securing three valuable points for the visitors.
