Tonight, the White Star faced Arka Gdynia in a thrilling encounter filled with action, determination, excitement, and emotions right until the final whistle. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Rodado and Duarte getting on the scoresheet.
The First Half
The match began with both teams eagerly trying to dominate each other. Former White Star player Szymon Sobczak, supported by Marcjanik, scored the opening goal. Since the 7th minute, the host team has led 1-0.
In the 29th minute, Angel Rodado was pulled by Arka’s player, but Rodado found his way, turned around with the ball and shot from the middle of the pitch, putting the ball into Arka’s goal and equalising the score. Wisła Kraków and Arka Gdynia shared a tie since then.
After Poletanović was injured, Mariusz Jop decided to change Wisła’s line-up - Duda enforced the team. A minute later, Duda moved forward, creating a situation to score another goal, passing to Zwoliński, who did not take advantage of a clear situation, shooting the post.
As the first half was coming to an end, Wisła Kraków started playing more ferociously, creating more situations to break the deadlock, hoping to score another goal. Nevertheless, their effort did not pay off. The first half ended in a draw, 1-1.
The Second Half
The second half began without any changes to the line-ups. Right after the whistle, both teams launched into an attacking style of play, determined to secure victory.
The first ten minutes of the second half were largely contested in midfield, with both Wisła and Arka attempting to break through each other’s defences and create chances to take the lead. Both sides played openly, but neither managed to capitalise. Mikulec had a promising opportunity to put Wisła ahead, but his shot sailed over the crossbar.
In the 53rd minute, Gojny delivered a corner kick, which Letkiewicz initially parried. However, Arka’s Azatsky reacted quickly, pouncing on the rebound and slotting the ball into Wisła’s net, giving his team the lead at 2-1. From the 70th minute onwards, Wisła Kraków pushed forward with greater urgency, but their efforts failed to produce an equaliser.
In stoppage time, Kiss played a pass to Rodado, who, despite being surrounded by three Arka players, managed to control the ball and lay it off to Duarte. Duarte struck it on the volley, sending the ball past the opposition goalkeeper and into the net, securing a dramatic equaliser. The match finished in a draw, 2-2, meaning both teams searing a point.
