Summary of Socios Wisła Kraków Events in 2024

The past year, 2024, in Socios Wisła was full of new initiatives and exciting events. Here is a summary of the last 12 months.

January


The year began with modifications to the procedures and regulations within the organization. The Socios Council Regulation was amended, introducing a new type of voting. According to the new rules, there would be a minimum of three votes each year regarding the use of funds collected from membership fees—one annual vote and two semi-annual ones. This resulted in the selection of new goals, with ideas coming directly from the regular members of the organization.

February


In February, the Socios team, which regularly competes in the FLS league, participated in the Business Club Trophy warmup. The team finished second in the tournament organized by Wisła Biznes.

March


In March, during an extraordinary vote, members of Socios decided to fund the implementation of a system for reusable eco-cups. The project cost 150,000 PLN. This resulted in additional income for the club during match days, totalling 589,980 PLN throughout 2024! Part of the proceeds from the sale of the eco-cups was allocated to the fund for the construction of the Henryk Reyman monument.


At the same time, another vote was held to financially support the football company. In the final vote, members of Socios Wisła responded positively to a request from Wisła Kraków's president, Jarosław Królewski, to help cover the club's ongoing expenses. The 1.5 million PLN provided was crucial in covering much of the licensing obligations and helping secure the UEFA license, allowing the team to compete in European cups.

At the end of the month, during the Wisła Biznes Gala, Socios received a special award in the "Club Sponsor" category.

April


The official beer of Wisła Kraków, Wiślackie, underwent a redesign after four years since its premiere! A new graphic design was introduced, along with a non-alcoholic version. As before, part of the proceeds from the sale of the beer went to the Henryk Reyman monument fund, which has already raised 137,153.92 PLN for this purpose.

Just before the anniversary of Henryk Reyman’s death, renovation work on the gravestone of the Wisła Kraków legend was completed, with the costs covered by Socios.

On April 14, a historic milestone was reached for Socios Wisła, surpassing 3,000 members.

At the end of the month, efforts were focused on the upcoming Polish Cup final. Socios distributed packages for its members and supported the club's organizational efforts, as well as the fans' groups.

May


In May, fans' dreams came true as Wisła Kraków won the Polish Cup! This was also the largest fan trip in the history of the club. Nearly 13,500 fans in special shirts filled the Wisła section, with an additional 13,500 in neutral sections.


After returning to Kraków, the cup was presented to Socios! During a meeting attended by over 500 people, Socios members had the chance to see the trophy and watch a training session of the first team. The meeting was graced by the presence of the Wisła Kraków president, coaching staff, and several players. There were also photo opportunities and autographs!

As in previous years, Socios became a partner of the Wanda Tumidajewicz and Józef Moszczak Memorial organized by the TS Wisła volleyball section. The 40th edition of the girls' volleyball tournament, held in memory of these legendary coaches, took place at TS Wisła's facilities, with several teams from across Poland participating.

June


At the beginning of the month, the General Assembly of Socios Wisła Kraków took place, with the existing board being re-elected for another term. The Supervisory Committee also remained unchanged.

The highlight of the month was the grand opening of the artificial turf pitch at TS Wisła, which was co-financed by Socios. Thanks to their contribution of 1,000,000 PLN, a modern facility was created for Wisła Kraków's youth teams to use.

July


Ticket distribution for European cups began! During the closed sale, Socios members had priority to purchase tickets for the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League matches.Before the first Europa League match, hundreds of Socios members gathered at the stadium to take part in a promotional event and create a massive "SOCIOS" sign in the middle of the pitch.

In July, an agreement was signed with the club for the upcoming season. Socios' logo continued to appear on the sleeve of the first team's match kit, and the support from members contributed to various areas of the 13-time Polish champion’s operations. As part of the collaboration, Socios became the patron of the "Player of the Match" poll, with members voting for the best player of each match, who would receive the Socios Player of the Match award and a unique trophy.

During the semi-annual vote, members of Socios Wisła decided to allocate 150,000 PLN for the purchase of training and analytical equipment for the Wisła Kraków Academy. Equipment such as rebounders, mannequins, training shields, tactical boards, PlayerMaker trackers, and two VEO cameras were purchased.

Socios also sponsored the Wisła Kraków vs Polonia Warsaw match, with the logo appearing in promotional materials and at the stadium. Members participated in contests and enjoyed activities such as a children’s escort to walk the teams onto the pitch.

August


In August, we celebrated the 6th anniversary of Socios Wisła!After months of work, the lighting for the artificial turf pitch at TS Wisła was completed. Socios found a sponsor to fund the project, and thanks to Konrad Wierzbicki, young Wisła players now have better training conditions.

September


Following the flood disaster, Socios Wisła launched the "Fans of Wisła for Flood Victims" initiative. Over 500 people participated in the fundraiser, collecting 42,273.33 PLN. The funds were used to purchase essential items, and around 30 pallets of donations were delivered to the affected areas, including food, water, hygiene products, and more, valued at approximately 65,000 PLN.

October


Socios Wisła supported the "Wisła History" association with 20,000 PLN for the organization of the Retro Match between Wisła Kraków and Pogoń Lwów. Socios became the main partner of this historic event. Funds were used to buy part of the costumes and produce a documentary about Józef Piłsudski’s visit to the match.

Socios also participated in the annual "Cleaning Wisła Graves" event with the Wisła History Association, honouring the memory of deceased Wisła figures.

November


On November 23, a meeting for Socios members was held in the Presidential Box of the stadium, where they had the opportunity to talk with Wisła Kraków's President, Jarosław Królewski, and Managing Director Florentyna Kulig, along with players Dawid Szot and Giannis Kiakos.

At the Wisła Kraków vs ŁKS Łódź match, a special anniversary took place as the Kulturalnego Kibica Club from Dobczyce celebrated its 200th away trip with Wisła. Socios provided 200 commemorative scarves for the club’s members and a commemorative plaque was presented to them by the Wisła Kraków President.

December


In December, a special event took place. Patryk Letkiewicz, who made his debut for the first team and earned several "Player of the Match" awards, decided to join Socios. It’s great to have him supporting Wisła not only on the field!

Socios also took part in the "Szlachetna Paczka" initiative for the third time, helping a family from Libiąż. Products, appliances, and other items totalling 6,988.39 PLN were donated to them.

The year ended with another vote, in which members decided to allocate 150,000 PLN for the renovation of locker rooms or the purchase and adaptation of containers for younger teams at TS Wisła. This project will begin in early 2025. Over the past 12 months, Socios Wisła has contributed a significant 1,800,000 PLN to the club, and over 6 years, the total support has surpassed 8 million PLN (8,127,879.59 PLN).
