SK RAPID 6-1 WISŁA KRAKÓW: The journey comes to an end

In the second qualifying round of the Europa League, Wisła Kraków played an away match against Rapid Vienna. The return leg, held at Allianz Stadion, ended with a 6-1 victory for the hosts. This result means that the "White Star" ends their journey in this competition.

At 20:30, referee Michael Oliver started the eagerly anticipated match between Wisła Kraków and Rapid Vienna at Allianz Stadion. Both teams played energetically, aiming for an early lead, with the stands excitedly buzzing.

However, Kraków's team was soon pushed into a deep defensive position, which Rapid Vienna exploited. Guido Burgstaller scored in the 6th minute, putting Wisła at a two-goal deficit from the first leg. Coach Kazimierz Moskal urged his players to push higher and play more boldly. Despite some promising midfield and wing play, Wisła conceded four more goals before halftime, with the scoreboard showing a crushing 5-0. Burgstaller scored a hat trick in less than half an hour, and Chichkan stood out for Wisła, saving a penalty and preventing an even greater defeat.

Second Half

Wisła’s defence improved after several substitutions in the second half, leading to more attacking opportunities. Rodado came close to scoring, but Niklas Hedl saved the ball just on the goal line. Ball possession evened out, but an injury to Joseph Colley during a set piece required medical attention. Shortly after, Christoph Lang increased Vienna's lead to 6-0.

Wisła's consolation goal came in the 80th minute from Angel Rodado, who scored after an impressive one-on-one play with Raux-Yao. The match ended with a 6-1 loss, ending Wisła Kraków's Europa League journey.
