Just three days later, the "White Star" returned to Konwiktorska 6, this time for the 19th round of the Betclic 1. Liga. The match carried significant weight, serving as a high-stakes rematch following their defeat in Tuesday's Polish Cup clash on the same ground. The match ended up with Polonia’s victory, 2-0.
The First Half
The match began with Wisła displaying its characteristic high-pressing style. In just the 5th minute, Łukasz Zwoliński had an early opportunity to score for Wisła, finding himself in Polonia’s penalty area. However, his shot lacked precision and failed to trouble the goalkeeper.
In the 25th minute, Polonia capitalised on a rare foray into Wisła’s half. A corner kick for the hosts resulted in Kołodziejski rising above the defence to head the ball into the back of the net, putting Polonia 1-0 ahead. Wisła immediately sought to respond, but Duda's effort was deflected by the Polonia defence, sending the ball narrowly over the crossbar.
As time progressed, the match became increasingly balanced. Wisła lost some of its initial dominance, while Polonia grew in confidence. In the 33rd minute, Wisła earned another corner, this time taken by Kiss. Despite the promising delivery, the chance to equalise went begging.
As the first half drew to a close, Polonia launched another offensive. Poczobut delivered an incisive pass over Wisła's defence to Zjawiński, who headed the ball into the net, doubling Polonia's lead to 2-0. The whistle for half-time blew, leaving Wisła with a significant deficit to overcome in the second half.
The Second Half
The second half began with changes to the "White Star’s" lineup—Kiss made way for Alfaro. After the break, Wisła once again resumed play with renewed energy, but Polonia remained steadfast in their defence.
In the 56th minute, Polonia had another opportunity from a corner kick. Zajawiński, however, failed to capitalise, his effort striking the post of Wisła's goal. As the clock ticked on, Wisła’s coach, Mariusz Jop, opted for further substitutions. Jaroch and Zwoliński were replaced by Kiakos and Duarte. Shortly after entering the pitch, Kiakos delivered a corner kick, but the resulting action failed to yield a goal.
Later, Mikulec took a free kick, sending the ball towards Uryga, who headed it to Bierzycki. Bierzycki, in turn, directed a header straight into the arms of Polonia's goalkeeper, missing a key chance to get Wisła on the scoreboard. Despite Wisła’s repeated attempts to score, their efforts were either poorly executed or blocked by Polonia’s resolute defenders.
The final 10 minutes were marked by end-to-end action, with Wisła desperately searching for a breakthrough and Polonia aiming to extend their lead. In the 84th minute, Polonia earned a free kick and executed it brilliantly, but Szur ultimately sent the ball over the crossbar.
The match concluded with another defeat for Wisła, as Polonia secured a vital three points.
