Michał Jania, a long-time member of Wisła Kraków, has been appointed head of the club’s Football Academy. Having been involved with Wisła as a player and a coach, he will now oversee the academy’s youth development programme.
Jania began his journey with Wisła at age nine. He progressed through the academy before making his first-team debut in the 2008 Ekstraklasa Cup. As a player, he won the Młoda Ekstraklasa title in 2008 and finished as runner-up in 2009. He also earned call-ups to Poland’s U-18 squad.
After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, working at Szkoła Futbolu Staniątki and Coerver Coaching Polska before joining Wisła’s academy in 2014. In 2021, he led the CLJ U-15 side to third place in Poland before becoming Youth Sport Coordinator, overseeing multiple age groups and academy teams in Kraków. Jania has gained further expertise through study visits and coaching internships at top European clubs, including Rapid Vienna, Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk, Lech Poznań, Sporting Lisbon, Sevilla FC, Borussia Dortmund, and Poland U-15.
