A week before their league opener, Biała Gwiazda hosted Hutnik Kraków in Myślenice. Under the guidance of Mariusz Jop, Wisła secured a 3-1 victory over their local rivals, with goals from Zwoliński, Szot, and Duda.
Strong Start for Wisła
Wisła Kraków asserted its dominance early on, taking control of the game and pushing forward into Hutnik’s penalty area. Their efforts quickly paid off, as Zwoliński found the back of the net in just the 5th minute, extending his fine goal-scoring form from previous friendly matches.
The home side showed no intention of slowing down. Baena and Zwoliński continued to test the opposition’s goalkeeper, but without success. It took 15 minutes for Hutnik to pose their first real threat, but Uryga stepped in to clear the danger. Bełycz came close, striking the crossbar, while Słomka narrowly missed the target.
As the first half progressed, the game became more balanced, with both sides creating opportunities. Rodado and Hoyo-Kowalski had attempts on goal, and just before the break, Hutnik once again hit the crossbar. Wisła responded in the 39th minute, with Rodado attempting to convert a free kick, but he was unable to capitalise. Despite both teams’ determination to score before half-time, the 1-0 scoreline remained unchanged.
Second-Half Goals
Wisła resumed the second half with the same lineup and quickly resumed their attacking play. However, their lack of clinical finishing meant they had to wait until the 60th minute to double their lead. Szot capitalised on a rebound after Zwoliński’s shot hit the post, slotting the ball home to make it 2-0.
At this point, manager Jop introduced a wave of substitutions, adding fresh legs to the squad. However, it was Hutnik who struck next. After a foul by Duda in the penalty area, Kamil Głogowski converted from the spot in the 75th minute, bringing Hutnik back into the contest at 2-1.
The closing stages of the match were fiercely contested, with both teams battling hard. The final moment of brilliance came in stoppage time when Kacper Duda unleashed a stunning strike to seal the 3-1 victory for Wisła. His goal not only secured the win but also redeemed him for the earlier penalty incident.
