Ferocious victory: #SSTWIS 1:5

The weather is getting chillier, but Sunday brought another electrifying match for Wisła. Today, the 'White Star' faced Betclic 1. Liga's newly promoted team, Stal Stalowa Wola. Wisła Kraków emerged victorious, winning 5-1.

First Half
The away match began without a clear dominating team, as both sides sought to assert control. In the 3rd minute, Rodado had a chance to score the opening goal, but his shot narrowly missed the net.

As time went on, Wisła increasingly asserted their presence in the opponent’s half of the pitch, creating several opportunities to score first. However, their actions lacked precision. Stalowa Wola attempted to counter and score, but each effort was thwarted by Wisła’s goalkeeper, Letkiewicz.

After the first 15 minutes, Wisła Kraków executed a clear offensive play against Stal Stalowa Wola, resulting in Baena chipping the ball over Stalowa Wola’s goalkeeper and giving Wisła the lead. However, Wisła’s advantage was short-lived. Just minutes later, Stal Stalowa Wola’s defender, Furtak, equalised, bringing the score to 1-1.

As the first half neared its end, Wisła Kraków began playing more boldly, generating more chances in Stal’s half. In the 39th minute, Wisła defender Kutwa hit the ball into the net, putting his team ahead 1-2. This goal started a goal streak, with Olivier Sukiennicki adding a third goal for Wisła just moments later.

The remainder of the first half was largely played in the midfield, with Wisła focused on securing their lead and Stal Stalowa Wola striving to level the score.

Second Half
The second half began with changes on both teams. Right after the restart, Rodado once again attempted to challenge Stal’s goalkeeper but shot just wide of the net. Stal entered the second half with renewed energy, resulting in more action on Wisła’s side. However, Wisła’s defense consistently blocked each attempt. As the second quarter of the half passed, both teams continued to press forward.

Wisła didn’t have to wait long for their next goal. Łukasz Zwoliński passed the ball to Alfaro, who completed the play by sending the ball into the opponent’s net, extending Wisła’s lead to 1-4.

Wisła's manager, Mariusz Jop, made changes in the lineup in hopes of maintaining control. Kacper Duda and debuting player Maciej Kuziemka entered the pitch. Moving into the final moments of the match, Wisła Kraków once again demonstrated their dominance with a goal by Łukasz Zwoliński, assisted by Kiakos in the 84th minute.

In the last minutes of the match, the host team pushed to score again. They had a close chance in the 87th minute with a shot from Pioterczak, but it hit the post. Wisła Kraków secured three valuable points.
