This weekend, Wisła Blind Football Kraków will travel to Bielsko-Biała to defend their national cup title won a year ago. The 2025 Polish Blind Football Cup, scheduled for October 17–19, promises to be a thrilling event featuring eight competing teams. For the first time ever, Bielsko-Biała will host blind football matches, making the tournament a brand-new challenge for coach Dominik Foryś and his players.
“New city, new venue, new opponents… a lot of variables, and very little time to adapt. The Polish Cup is just one tournament, it’s a sprint where form on the day matters more than during the league season. It’s another chance to prove why we’ve been the best for another year,” said goalkeeper Krzysztof Spytkowski, who will lead the defense in the absence of the injured Krzysztof Bednarkiewicz.
Wisła have been drawn into Group B alongside the hosts Rekord Bielsko-Biała Blind Football, Niezłomni Blind Football Zabrze (promoted from the lower tier), and debutants WIPS Lublin, a team featuring several experienced players and coaches formerly associated with Śląsk Wrocław Blind Football.
“We’re not focusing on who we drew, who’s new, or who’s more experienced. We want to concentrate on what we do best – our game and our identity. As Krzysiek said, it’s one short tournament, and we have to play it on our terms. Smaller goals, shorter matches, and multiple games in one day make things more demanding, but those conditions apply to everyone,” added Rafał Kurlit, Wisła’s assistant coach.
The White Star will kick off the tournament at 10:00 a.m. against WIPS Lublin, the biggest unknown of this year’s edition, followed by a 2:00 p.m. clash with Niezłomni Zabrze. At 6:00 p.m., Wisła will face the hosts from Bielsko, led by the current national team coach, who recently worked with three Wisła players and coach Kurlit at international level.
“It’s going to be an exciting tournament, especially against Lublin and the hosts, who will want to make a strong impression in their debut on home soil. Still, for us, there’s only one acceptable goal, the final and the gold medal. We respect every opponent, but we know our strength and quality. Playing for the title is our duty, even if injuries and setbacks have tested us lately,” emphasized team captain Marcin Ryszka.
The tournament will take place at the facility on Startowa 13 in Bielsko-Biała. Fans are encouraged to support Wisła BF live or via the official PZSN “Start” YouTube channel. More details can be found on the team’s social media profiles.
We wish our players the best of luck as they aim to add another golden brick to the ever-growing legacy of Wisła Blind Football Kraków!
