Albert Rudé parts ways with Wisła Kraków

Spanish coach Albert Rudé will no longer lead Wisła Kraków. The club and the coach have decided to end the project. Albert Rudé took the helm of the White Star at the end of 2023.

Under his guidance, the team played 18 matches in the spring season. In the final Polish Cup, Wisła Kraków defeated Pogoń Szczecin, winning the trophy for the first time in 21 years. "We have decided together with Albert that our cooperation has ended. As a club, we were keen to extend the contract with the coach and continue working together on a long-term project. He is a wonderful person and an outstanding specialist, and I firmly believe that in the future he will coach in one of the top 5 leagues in the world. In a short period, we managed to win the Polish Cup after 21 years, secure the club's participation in the European Cup qualifiers, and thus gain a solid financial boost. After hours of meetings, the coach, upon analysing the previous season, decided that his role at Wisła has come to an end at this stage," said Jarosław Królewski, president of Wisła Kraków.

"Wisła Kraków will always remain in my heart as a wonderful club. When I came here, I had specific goals. Some of them were achieved, but the most important one - promotion to the Ekstraklasa - was not. Winning the Polish Cup was a significant event for me, one that I am very proud of and will never forget. I greatly respect the fans and the community of Wisła Kraków – it is a unique club with unique people and a unique place. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this. However, I am an efficient coach, and the club is always more important than any individual. I conducted a deep analysis of my time here and believe that my work will certainly bring benefits in the medium and long term, but currently, the club has different needs. I thank the president, staff, players, and fans. Only Wisła!" added coach Albert Rudé.

Albert Rudé and his assistant Eric Lira Fernandez are also leaving the club.

Thank you and good luck with your future coaching challenges!
